London Calling!

Holy Moly. I just checked out www.DoAllTravel.com for Europe airline tickets, and they have flights to London for just $264. That’s not very much money at all, to travel three thousand miles one way. I’m excited. I’m going to London!

London was once the center of the world because it was the political and economic capital of the British empire during the 18th and 19th centuries. But London’s history began long before that, during Roman times, when it was called Londinium. As a result London has a wealth of history and culture to explore. Their art museums alone house some of Western civilization’s most prized possessions. The Elgin Marbles, for example, which are housed in The National Gallery, were taken from the Parthenon temple on top of the Acropolis in Athens during the 1800’s when a British ambassador named Thomas Bruce, 7th Earl of Elgin, obtained permission from the Ottoman government. I’ve been waiting to see those marbles for years, and finally, I’ll have my chance.

Today, London is the E.U.’s most populous city, a center of international culture, and Heathrow International is the world’s busiest airport. And it’s only going to get busier, because I’ve got my Europe airline tickets and I'm on my way there!
